 BULL RIVER OUTFITTERS (2007) LTD ROCKY MOUNTAIN ELK HUNTS 
The East Kootenay Region of British Columbia is one of the few places sportsman can hunt Elk during the rut in the archery and rifle season and is a wilderness hunting experience you will cherish. Our Elk population is strong and increasing due to the six point regulation in place. This allows bulls to reach full maturity and trophy quality. September and early October is the best time to hunt elk as this is in the prime rut and the bulls are bugling. True Elk Hunter's will appreciate this experience of being able to bugle and cow talk these majestic mountain animals and listen to their response echo through the valley in hopes of a big bull coming in to investigate. During mid October the spot and stalk method is more successful although bulls may still respond to calls. We have several spike camps located in remote areas of the territory that are well maintained. Horses are very useful in this rugged terrain and highly recommended for transportation into our secluded remote hunting areas. It is in the hunter's best interest to be prepared both physically and mentally for challenging stalks as big mature bulls are often found at high elevations. Mature bulls in our area average 280" to 330" class with 330" plus class bulls always a possibility and we have experienced 40% to 60% success rates.
