Elk Hunt Streaming Video

The East Kootenay region of British Columbia is home to some of the very best wilderness Elk hunting found anywhere with the average bull ranging from 280" to 330" and larger trophy bulls up to 360". You will experience vast country that is as wild as it is beautiful in search of these majestic trophies. The month of September is the best time to book as it is Prime Bugle Season and Bulls are in Full Rut.

For several years now, B.C. Fish & wildlife has restricted harvesting to 6 points (on one side) or more. The result has been a steady increase in the number of mature 6x6 and greater bulls available to the trophy hunter. A 2002 population survey revealed data indicating the Bull River drainage (our area) as one of the top Elk hunting areas in the Kootenays. We have experienced 40% - 60% kill success rate on Bull Elk, most of which are 300" plus Trophy Bulls. Fall of 2007 proved to be another successful season. View recent pictures in the photo gallery.

Most hunts are conducted on horseback into remote areas of the territory. If horses aren't your choice of transportation then be prepared to hike 2 - 6 hours each day. Being in good physical condition is very important as these high elevation monarchs live in rugged terrain.

Additional species tags are available to combine with an Elk Hunt. Mule Deer, Whitetail Deer, Black Bear, and Wolf Hunts are available. Join us for a Bull River Adventure we are sure you will never forget!
